HOUSTON – With precision, purpose, and a touch of friendly competition, the Center for Pursuit’s 12th Annual Clay Shoot took aim at making a difference, and it hit the bullseye. Held on October 28 at the Greater Houston Sports Club, the event brought over 150 sharp shooters together for a day of fun, all in support of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), autism and similar conditions. Hosted by the Young Professionals in Energy – Houston, the event raised an impressive $124,000, proving once again that Houston’s philanthropic community never misses the mark when it comes to giving back.
Former KTRK Channel 13 Sports Anchor Adam Winkler repeated his role as event emcee for a third year in a row, firing up the crowd and recognizing standout performers:
- 1st Place Team: Jason Upton, Mark Cook, Chad Stokely, Neal Simpson
- 2nd Place Team: Joe Magnon, Hugo Lozano, Joe Wagnon
- 3rd Place Team: Tyler Dodson, Haley Satterwhite-Day, Mike Eason, Mark Kidd
- Top Woman Shooter: Haley Satterwhite-Day
- Top Man Shooter: Gator Adams
“The dedication of this community is always on target,” said Charles Njuguna, President and CEO of the Center for Pursuit. “The energy, generosity, and shared vision demonstrated at this year’s Clay Shoot will propel our programs and deepen our impact. We are grateful to Young Professionals in Energy – Houston, our sponsors, and everyone who participated to help us hit the mark.”
