Unique dental clinic opens at The Center for Pursuit
Believe Dental only clinic in Houston dedicated to serving individuals with special needs
HOUSTON, TX – The Center for Pursuit (The Center) and Believe Dental have unveiled a pioneering collaboration, establishing Houston’s sole dental practice that specializes in caring for individuals with special needs. Situated within the health and wellness complex at The Center’s campus in Houston’s East End, this innovative clinic employs evidence-based approaches to alleviate anxiety and other challenges. Now, individuals who might not receive dental treatment because of such challenges have a comfortable environment where providers understand the needs of those with cognitive, developmental, emotional, physical, or chronic medical conditions.
Research shows that individuals with special needs face systemic challenges in accessing dental care. “Finding a willing and experienced dentist who understands the challenges presented by children and adults with unique physiological and behavioral conditions is difficult, if not impossible for many individuals with IDD,” said Dr. David Ferguson of Believe Dental. “Our partnership with The Center creates unprecedented access for our community and eases the burden on parents and caregivers and their loved ones.”
Believe Dental at The Center offers cleanings and exams, plus cosmetic, restorative, and surgical dentistry for patients of all abilities, including individuals grappling with dementia, fear, anxiety, PTSD, and other conditions. Additionally, the clinic provides treatment options for those who benefit from behavior management and/or sedation. Patients do not need to be clients of The Center to utilize Believe Dental services. Family members and patients without disabilities are also welcome.

The Center also maintains vital partnerships with Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital, offering comprehensive healthcare, wrap-around services, and social support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and similar conditions. Additionally, Bloom Fitness provides holistic exercise and wellness classes onsite and online.
Believe Dental accepts commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Medicaid waivers, and offer in-house payment plans to ensure affordability for their patients.
