This year’s luncheon Rise & Thrive! benefiting The Center for Pursuit will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at River Oaks Country Club. This annual celebration raises much-needed funds for the programs and services provided to hundreds of children and adults in our Houston community with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), autism, and other similar conditions.
We are honored to have Victoria Beard and Lance Reynolds as our co-chairs for the Rise & Thrive! Annual Luncheon. They are long-time board members and supporters of The Center for Pursuit’s mission and cause.
With the support of over fifty local businesses and companies, The Center continues to provide customized employment planning, assistance, and placement for transitioning youth and adults in the greater Houston area. This year, the luncheon will feature a coffee chat with Houston professionals and franchise owners, Drew and Kelly Scoggins, of Bitty & Beau’s Coffee Houston who currently employ several of our clients here at The Center. The mission of Bitty & Beau’s Coffee, a North Carolina-based coffee shop business, is to employ people with a variety of disabilities ranging from Down syndrome to autism to cerebral palsy. Through our continued partnerships with community leaders like Drew and Kelly, The Center is able to provide meaningful career opportunities for individuals with IDD and autism empowering them to realize their potential in a world in which they are fully integrated.
We know you will leave this year’s luncheon inspired by The Center, its mission, and its comprehensive approach to addressing the needs of individuals with IDD and autism in Houston.
