STATEMENT ABOUT THE CENTER FOR PURSUIT CLOSURE OF DAY PROGRAMS

The Center for Pursuit is taking the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic very seriously due to the vulnerable nature of the individuals who call The Center home. We have taken the past few days to ensure that our residents, clients, and employees remain as safe and healthy as possible. Our focus has been the safety of our campus locations as well as our community-based homes, and personally communicating to our families, volunteers, and community suppliers who support us.

Due to recommendations set forth as of 3/15/20 by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, our campus locations, and our community-based homes are now closed to all outside visitors and our residents will not be traveling off-campus or outside their homes, with the exception of emergencies.

In response to COVID-19, we highly acknowledge ‘facts over myths’, but the bottom line is that The Center for Pursuit serves a medically vulnerable population and it is our top priority to keep them safe under all circumstances. Our residents and clients are more susceptible to illness. We also know that anybody can be a carrier of the COVID-19 virus even if not yet showing signs or symptoms. These protocols are effective immediately.

Our amazing staff throughout all locations are appreciated and valued in ways we cannot put into words. They are selflessly serving the incredible individuals who are served by The Center for Pursuit and are continuing to make all of our homes still feel like home during this pandemic as best as possible.
