450 guests packed the Briar Club on Thursday, May 2, in support of the Center for Pursuit Building a Game Plan for the Future Luncheon.  The event scored with special guest Texan Quarterback Deshaun Watson leading the way for the future of the organization.

Chairs Jennifer Dominiquini, Kevin Kushner and Brittany Sakowitz Kushner were thrilled with the record amount $360,000 raised.

Khambrel Marshall emceed the day for the Center for Pursuit which helps empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live meaningful, dignified lives filled with opportunity.  The event unveiled a new logo and the plans for a new, transformative campus that will expand the possibilities for their clients situated on the eastside of downtown.  The appeal with everyone waving Rally Towels, sponsored by BBVA raised over $80,000 in 5 minutes.  Mayor Sylvester Turner introduced Deshaun, along with a surprise video from Clemson Coach Dabo Swinney that brought applause from the crowdand a big smile from Deshaun.  A standing ovation at the end of the interview made for a winning day.

The Center for Pursuit currently serves over 450 adults with I/DD in the Houston area. They tailor the support provided to the varied needs of the people and families served. Each day, in each program, they witness breakthroughs, tender moments, and everyday victories that affirm their steadfast commitment to the guiding principles of choice, growth, and personal independence, and the humanity within us all.
