Director of Development

Lauryn Herpin is the Director of Development at The Center for Pursuit. Lauryn joined The Center in May 2022, bringing with her valuable experience in development and strategic planning.

Lauryn began her nonprofit career at the San Diego History Center where she worked on the Visitor Engagement Team before joining Boys to Men Mentoring in 2017. There, she managed the organization’s annual development strategy which included several, signature events: a peer-to-peer surf-a-thon engaging over 250 participants and 3,000 donors annually, a Caddyshack-themed golf tournament with 216 participating golfers and 40+ bands and local vendors, and a Guinness World Record attempt with over 150 participants in 2018. In order to address the organization’s growing needs, Lauryn also developed her expertise in development communications, donor relations, stewardship, grant writing, and prospect research. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lauryn’s adapted fundraising strategy allowed the organization to raise over $1 million in annual revenue, the first time in its history.

In her current role at The Center, Lauryn is responsible for overseeing all operational fundraising initiatives including events, annual appeals, grants and foundation proposals, and gift processing.

Lauryn earned her BA in Political Science and MA in History from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Among other volunteer activities, she serves as Board Secretary for Boys to Men Mentoring Network and advising consultant for Boys to Men Texas.
